All Articles must be either directly or indirectly linked to a menu item or set to show on the front page in order to show on the front end of your site. An article (content item) can be linked to a menu item after the article is saved. Content can be linked to a menu item indirectly through a category or section if that category/section is linked to a menu item.
From the Control panel in your administration site, go to: Menu > Main Menu (or whatever menu you would like to create the link in)
- Click the New button.
- You will see a variety of options available to you. Select the type of menu item you would like to create. For example; to link a single Article, you will want to choose Article - Article Layout. If you have a series of blogs saved in a blog category, you will want to choose, Category - Blog Layout. Mousing over the various options will provide a brief description of the type of menu link.
- Click on the menu link of choice. Type in a title and set the Parameters on the right hand side as applicable.
- Click the Save button.
Go to the front end of your site. Refresh to see your changes. Feel free to experiment. If the link doesn't turn out the way you want it to, simply trash it and create a new one.
