PDF - Linking To

A pdf link is useful when wanting to include articles or newsletters on your website while keeping them in their original format.
Create, then Upload pdf to the Media Manager
- Create a pdf file and save it on your computer.
- Open your administration site and go to Site < Media Manager
- Click on the 'Stories' folder
- Create a folder within the stories folder by typing a one word name into the 'Create Directory' bar at the top right of the window.
- Click the 'Create' button
- Open the new folder you created by clicking on it.
- Click the 'Browse' button to browse your computer for the pdf file your previously saved.
- Upload the file.
- Copy the file location - htdocs/images/stories/newsletters - followed by the image name - /example.pdf
Insert pdf link into content item.
- From the control panel in your administration site, go to the content item or module where you want to insert the pdf link.
- Type in text or insert an image that you want your viewers to click on to take them to the pdf link.
- Hilight or select that text or image.
- Click on the 'Insert File Link' icon. (It is on the bottom row of the tool bar)
- Type in the file url that you copied in #9 above. It will look like this: htdocs/images/stories/newsletters/example.pdf
- Click the 'Insert' button.
- Click the 'Save' button at the top right of the page.
You have now created a link to your pdf. Go to the front end of your site, refresh the page and check your link.
