Restricting Access To Articles & Menu Items
At times an administrator may want to create article and/or menu items that is restricted to those with other than public access.
You may restrict access to both content items and menu items. In both cases, go to the item you would like to restrict.
For an article, go to the Parameters - Article tab and change the access level to Registered so that only Registered users or higher can view the Article, or Special so that only those with Author or higher access can view the article.
In a menu item, the access level is found near the bottom of the details screen.
Note: You may change the access level whenever desired.
Creating Users With Special Access
Now that you have restricted some items you will need to give some users access rights. This is done in the backend (administrative site)
Go to Site < User Manager
Type in the user details giving the user a password
Choose the level of access you would like the user to have. Registered will allow the user to access any articles/menu items that have Registered Access. Author or higher will allow the user to access any items designated Special.
