You can now create an audio library on your site using the RSGallery2 component. The component allows you to upload mp3 audio files to your site. You can add names and descriptions to the files which are then displayed on your site in an easy to use player.

Audio

Files uploaded to this component are required to be in MP3 format and should be approximately 20 MB in size.

NOTE: The MP3 file must be encoded at 44.1 kHz, or 22.05 kHz, or 11.025 kHZ; any other sampling rate may result in the "chipmunk effect.

Save MP3 files on your computer, then proceed to upload files to the component:

  1. Login to your administration site.
  2. Go to Components < RSGallery2 < Upload
  3. From the Select Gallery drop down box, choose Audio
  4. Type in a name for your audio file and a description of the file.
  5. Browse for your MP3 file.
  6. Click the 'Upload' button. Uploading may take some time depending on the file size. Please be patient.
  7. Go back to the Gallery Manager showing the listing of galleries.

At this point you must publish the menu link that has already been established for your audio component so it will show in the menu listing on the frontend of your site.

  • From the Control Panel in your Administration Site, choose Menus < Main Menu
  • Locate the menu item called Audio
  • Click on the red x under the Published Column to publish the menu item

To add additional mp3 files to your audio gallery at a later date, repeat steps 1 - 7 above.

The Audio Component can also link to or be inserted into a Module or an Article.

1. Create a new Article or use an existing Article. Then insert the link into the text box of the article using the insert link tool. (The unbroken chain link)

Insert this url into the appropriate field in the pop up box : /index.php?option=com_rsgallery2&rsgTemplate=xspf&gid=1

Important: replace the last number in the above url with the the id # of the gallery you created in RSGallery2.

2. Create a module into which you insert the link into the module content using the insert link tool.
